Dear Friends,
If you haven't heard much from me this year, it's because I threw off the bowlines big time. For real.
Yes, a year ago my husband and I left home for five months, got on a ship, and traveled around the world. We visited 34 countries, anchored in 63 ports, and covered 36,585 nautical miles (that's one and a half times around the planet, in case you were wondering). This semester at sea was a dream come true, and every bit as epic as it sounds.
As our journey unfolded, it didn't take long to realize that what began as a moveable feast of delicious bucket-list destinations like Havana and Bora Bora, Shanghai and Mumbai, Petra and Giza, the Panama Canal and the Suez Canal... was only part of the
feast.
Turns out that between all those port stops there was a lot of space and time. (Who knew?) Traveling at a glacial pace over huge expanses of water gave us no choice but to go slow...
and let go.
And what a reveal it was! What we got was an opportunity to experience expansive new worlds of spaciousness – where time is elastic, resistance dissolves, good sleep matters, new habits form, wonder grows, bandwidth to deal with difficult situations expands, pain enlightens, doing nothing with awareness is (a really big) something, rest nourishes, intuition informs, laughter heals,
clarity comes into focus, wisdom prevails.
Yes, we entered unexplored territories on this voyage that you can only get to when you slow down and simplify, sense, surrender, and cultivate self-care.
As in the "five S's."
It was on those sea days, in fact, where I could finally rest and flourish; where doing less gave me a whole lot more (of the soulful treasures I had been seeking all along).

I've just described...
think again!
I am here to tell you that you do not need to get on a ship (or a rickshaw for that matter) to experience the spaciousness that I'm talking about.
The "five S's" – yes, the same ones I just referenced and continue to practice myself – will work their magic on you too, now, without your having to leave home.
You can go on your own journey and experience ease and wonders beyond your wildest imaginings (hiding in plain sight).
